The International Forum «Week of Efficient Gas Distribution and Utilization» is completed

The international forum «Week of gas efficient distribution and utilization» took place in Moscow from September 25th to the 28th.
The following events were on the agenda of the forum:

More than 40 reports were presented at the international conference «Efficient Gas Distribution and Utilization» conducted in the framework of the Forum, dealing with the subjects of gas supply and gasification development, operation of gas distribution systems, energy efficiency and energy saving, investments in energy saving projects. Over 300 delegates participated in the conference – managers and specialists from OAO «Gazprom» and its affiliated structures, representatives of federal and regional legislative and executive authorities, Russian and foreign companies, organizations and experts. The results and prospects of Russian Federation regions gasification were analyzed, international experience in operation of gas distribution networks was reviewed, the main ways of realizing the potential of energy saving in the Russian Federation were outlined, including assistance to development of state mechanism of energy saving in the Russian Federation. Greetings addressed to the participants of the conference were received from S.M. Mironov, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, D.A. Medvedev, Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
Over 90 companies from 11 countries of the world were exhibitors of the 5th International specialized exhibition on gas distribution and efficient gas utilization, GasSUF-2007; about 3000 people visited the exhibition. The business program of the exhibition included conferences «Gaseous fuels for transportation», «Cryogenic Technologies for Industry, House and Transportation», «Current challenges in the corrosion protection», with more than 300 participants.
Over 80 experts from the leading international companies – IGU members participated in the work of the meetings of the Working Committee 4 «Gas distribution», of the Working Committee 5 «Gas utilization» and Special Task Force on Research and Development, which also took place in the framework of the Forum. Besides the items of the agenda, the possibility of applying the experience of foreign countries for increasing gas utilization efficiency in Russia was discussed at the meetings.
